Layer chickens. At the end of May 2009, construction on the poultry house was completed using local materials and resources. Trainings on how to conduct this project were done in early 2009 for interested caregivers in the trust. Everyone is excited about this project and the delivery of the chickens.
The trust wants to focus on this poultry project to begin with; then once they are comfortable managing that they hope to begin other projects like a piggery and a garden.

The last group of people trained will be caregivers in community health and OVC support. The training will ask the volunteers to return to their community to inform them on basic hygiene practices and how to prevent disease from spreading between water, food and person to person. The OVC supporters will be able to visit homes with OVCs and train their caregivers how to make sure all their needs are being met.

The completion of the bore hole was exciting for the trust, as it enabled the start of its first income generating project.
