CELEBRATE IN MEXICO
February 14, 2012
Hello Celebrate Family, warm greetings from a bitterly cold San Rafael.
One more time, here is a missions update. December was a very busy month in our ministry. We were busy with rehearsals for the Christmas program that we prepared for the church. We had the special Christmas service on the December 25th. We had over 280 people, and it was hard to count the multitude. The small church was packed with people and most of them were relatives of church members that were visiting from out of town. It was a very special night. The message was shared and was followed by dramas, singing, and the kids’ choreographies. Many people had the opportunity to hear about God’s unconditional love. It was a great night.
On New Year’s Eve, my wife and I traveled to McAllen, Texas to be with our family. We had a wonderful time together. Thanks to our wonderful church and the financial support we received, we bought many toys and Christmas gifts for kids and families in need. On January 2nd, we traveled back to San Rafael very excited that we were bringing toys for kids and that our dream had been fulfilled. On Friday, January 6th, we had a huge Christmas party for the kids to give them their gifts. It was such a great emotion to see many kids smiling while receiving their toys.
The next day, we had the opportunity to travel to the village far away on the hills of San Rafael, to bring toys, bags of candies and grocery baskets we made for the families in the village of Lucio Blanco. We had the opportunity to take the girls of the tambourine dance team from our church, to participate in this outreach. They had their most memorable time in their short lives. We had a wonderful church service and the girls played their tambourines. We had a great time of ministry.
The month of January we have also been very busy sharing God’s love with people that were hit with tragedies during the holidays. Three different families from our church had a death in the family in different incidents. One family was in a tragic home fire that took the lives of the father and a five year old son. It was very difficult for them. Another family lost their 21 year old son in a tragic car accident.
As you can see, we have had a very busy month. We have attended 4 funerals within the first two weeks of the year.
Please continue to pray for us as we continue our journey. Thanks for your support and prayers. God Bless You!
